Jump Studios defines the sustainable post-pandemic workplace for leading electronics brand Worten at World Trade Center, Lisbon.

Worten, Portugal’s leader consumer electronics company, commissioned Jump Studios to undertake a complete reimagining of it. Spanning a 6,000-square-meter office space, the project aimed to prioritise sustainability, wellness, and connectivity while transforming the workplace experience for the company’s 1,200-strong workforce.
In response to Worten’s brief, which emphasised the need for high-quality spaces that would bring its staff together for meaningful collaboration and socialising, Jump Studios designed a state-of-the-art workplace centred around flexible workspaces and communal amenities. Unlike the company’s previous office layout characterised by single-desk cubicles, the new workspace embraces connected and hybrid working. It offers bookable hot-desking areas, individual booths, meeting rooms, communal workspaces, relaxation zones, a restaurant, and several cafés.
To ensure efficient functionality, the design creates clearly-defined zones to separate high-traffic areas for client interactions and collaboration from spaces dedicated to concentration and contemplation.
The office floorplate encompasses two building wings joined by a connecting bridge on each level, utilised by Jump Studios to bring abundant natural light into key areas. The bridge space on Level 4 houses a 50+ capacity boardroom offering stunning views of Lisbon. Level 5 features breakout spaces and a gaming lounge, while Level 6 boasts a winding garden with seating and plantings between the two buildings. Lastly, Level 7 offers an open garden terrace with a bar for entertaining.
Embracing Lisbon’s social values of communality and gathering together, Jump Studios incorporated a restaurant and terrace that are not only open to employees but also to clients, family members, and friends of staff, fostering a sense of community and socialisation. Additionally, the top-floor penthouse serves as a versatile presentation space, which can be arranged as an auditorium or customised for workshops using modular furniture elements.
Technology plays a vital role in enhancing the employee journey through the MyWorten app. This app enables employees to book desks, lockers, and meeting spaces, receive parcel delivery notifications, access the building and lifts, and reserve meals at the restaurant, eliminating the need for physical cards and paper. The workspace also features the latest video call facilities with facial recognition and noise cancellation capabilities, facilitating seamless collaboration.
Sustainability was a key focus throughout the project. Each material used was carefully assessed for local availability and associated carbon emissions before being deployed. The building is equipped with solar panels, and integrated AI software controls lighting, humidity, and air quality based on interior and exterior conditions. To optimise energy consumption, the lighting in unoccupied areas is automatically dimmed. The project holds LEED and WELL certifications, demonstrating its commitment to environmental responsibility and employee well-being.
